Is Oil of Olay really that bad?
I have heard from two people who are supposedly, “experts” on skin care that Oil of Olay is bad for your skin especially if you get acne. Does Oil of Olay really have oil just because it says Oil of Olay? I do think that the Oil of Olay with SPF causes acne from experience, but then again, I have used Neutrogena lotion with SPF that I believe caused breakouts even though it claims to be non-comedogenic. I think Neutrogena has some harsh face washes.
I really don’t know what to believe from ‘experts.’ Just because it is non-comedogenic doesn’t mean it won’t cause breakouts from experience.
Is Oil of Olay really bad?
Olay, which was FORMERLY known as Oil of Olay has a pretty respectable skin-care line. I don’t know who these experts are you heard of if they’re calling it Oil of Olay…because the company has simply been, “Olay,” for a decade, now.
No, most of their products do not contain any oil whatsoever, although reading labels [Ingredients] will ensure that you get the product that is right for you. It is true that there are additional fragrances and dyes in the product which are things that can cause flare-ups in many people.
Just because a particular product might have triggered a reaction/breakout in you does not necessarily mean it will in other people. Furthermore, how long ago has it been since you used that product? Most companies change their formulations pretty regularly because of breakthroughs in skincare.
Many people have found success with Neutrogena; I am one of them. You have to be aware of how sensitive your skin is-Salicylic Acid, which is meant for treating acne, is a pretty harsh chemical by itself. Neutrogena is one of the drugstore-available brands that is indeed recommended by dermatologists for rough cases of acne because of its power. It is too strong for my sister, for example; she has found more luck with Biore.
