Should I avoid using Benzoyl Peroxide if Proactiv left me with dry and red skin? It also didnt get rid of acne?

Proactiv helped maybe 25% of my acne at best (im being pretty generous here). To me the first and last step of the 3 step process makes my skin very dry, red, irritated, and flaky. Its even worse now that it is winter time. I researched and i realized that benzoyl peroxide is making my skin dry. I am 15 years old and i should have oily skin since im going through puberty but i think i really have sensitive skin since im so easily affected by benzoyl peroxide. So teh question is, should i avoid benzoyl and go for products that contain Salicylic acid as the active ingredient?

Here are the products im considering

Kiehl’s Acne Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment
or Neutrogena Advance Solutions Complete System

This is the oil free moistureizer i plan on buying if my skin gets dry after using acne products

if ur having problems with acne, u should really go and see a dermatologist. when i was your age, i had really bad acne and was pulled in by tv ads and drug store products. I went and saw a dermatologist. he gave me a medication and within the first month i wasn’t getting any new beak outs. now i’m 22 and lots of ppl compliment me on my clear skin. the earlier u go see a doctor the better. trust me, its better to go and see someone who specializes in skin care rather than coming up with your own remedies that don’t work.

Acne Products that DO NOT work.
