I have heard that taking an Aveeno Oatmeal bath will help give me some relief from my itching? I have been to a dermatologist several times and he always prescribes me a cortisone cream.
Interested in hearing if anyone has had luck with this.
I don’t like the use of a cortisone cream for any long term relief of itching. It has some long term side affects and personally I think there are a lot better alternatives to help you with the itching.
I personally have used an aveeno oatmeal bath. It definately helps.
Put 2 cups of aveeno in a warm bath and soak for about 15 minutes. When you dry yourself off, be sure to pat yourself dry instead of rubbing the towel over the infected area. You need to apply a moisturizer immediately after.
i have eczema mostly on my hands but i have a really dry/oily face
i use cream the doctor gave me for my hands i dont use it on my face since it is a grease kind of medicine and i use Aveeno Lotion i also wash with dove soap and wash my face wit neutrogena deep clean foaming scrub and i also use biore pore and face strips but still like almost nothing works to keep my face smooth i get really dry mainly in the creases on my nose n a lil on my cheeks n fore head when i put make up on i looks kinda cakey or powdery btw i use maybaline dream matte mousse foundation which i do love but i guess my face is too dry for it to have that beautiful airbrush look.if u have any advice for wat i should do/use plz let me know thanx =]
I think you might be using too many products on your face. Your face can only handle so much. Keep it simple and stick with the same face wash and moisturizer every night. Also, I use Cetaphil because I also have extremely dry skin and it works wonders for me. I have oily/dry skin and I swear by this stuff. Also, for foundation I use Bare Minerals and if you want that flawless complexion-this is the only way to go. Plus it doesn’t clog pores and it never looks caked on. It’s so light you could sleep in it but it still covers up any imperfection you may have. Hope this helped!

How to use Proactiv? (which things to apply)?
I just got proactiv, i got the 3 piece starting bundle with the Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, Repairing Lotion, and Refining Mask, my question is how to use these products. like what to apply and how many times a day or week cus the containers or papers that the thing came with do not say it anywhere. The only one that says something is the Refining Mask, which says to use it 2-3 times a week. Thanks in advance.
Thanks to everyone, and I’m positive it’ll work, everything I’ve used for acne has given me some sort of result and no problems, I’m trying Proactiv for the first time to see if it will work better than the other stuff I’ve tried, and because the pharmacy near me is out of stock on my usual acne medication and will be for a month.
the directions should be on the back of the bottle but you have to use the Renewing cleanser first and wet your face with hott hott water first then put it on and scrub gently. The you dry your face (down wipe pat dry) and put on the Revitalizing toner with toilet paper or cotton pads, then when that is DRY you put on the Repairing lotion circle it in and dont miss any spots. use then in the morning and the night every day. Oh and you can use the Refining mask after the renewing cleanser but your face has to be damp before you apply it. Hope this helped i use the same stuff so it should help. Good luck anyway!
ps. the results will depend on your type of skin. it works on some people but not others so dont listen when other people say it doesnt work because it is different for everyone!

It cleared my skin in a week, and now, 4 months later, I still have crystal clear skin! It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it, and it works. There is obviously no cheap over-the-counter skin product or everyone would have clear skin. This is formulated with glycolic acid, and it will transform your skin to brand new. Skin Care Routine help/advice needed!?
I have dry skin and I am fair skinned. I am very acne prone and recently my skin got used to my old routine so now I have to swtich it up. I am planning on using Sea Breeze Original Formula Astringent, Lubriderm as a moisturizer (I have very dry skin), Sunscreen, Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream, and Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Serum. I am not sure on a cleanser but I am thinking either CeraVe or Purpose by Johnson and Johnson. Please tell me if this routine seems okay, or if you have any better products to reccommend. I also need advice on a cleanser. Basically, I am just asking for advice. Thank you!

My hands get extremely dry during the winter, to the point where they start bleeding. I drink a lot of water, I guess it’s just because my skin is very sensitive and I’m out all of the time in the freezing cold (runner).
Now, after my very bad experience with bleeding hands I’ve been addicted to putting on hand lotion. I use the Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream and CeraVe and my hands feel great. But is it possible to put on too much hand lotion? Any bad effects that can occur?

Otherwise, I think your fine. You may want to invest in better gloves, though.

one does a deeper cleaning. but should do the job. but proactive is expensive. my mom uses the avon acne treatment and it does the same thing for a cheaper price with a money back guarantee.

how long does it take for my skin to go bck to normal after proactiv dissaster?
so i started using proactiv deep cleansing wash and i had a horrible outcome.
skin was red
flaking everywhere
and i actaully got more zits…. which made me feel even worse!
how long till my skin goes back to normal?

Once you have an allergic reaction to a product it could take a week or maybe more for it to get better. I had the same reaction with another product and my skin was red, itchy, flaky, and horribly dry. I stopped using it and moisturized my face once in the morning and before I went to bed to try and help it. It took a little over a week for the flaky-ness to go away.
For the acne, I suggest going to a site like Neutrogena and taking the quiz to see what type of skin you have and when you buy any product, test it on the back of your hand first so that something like this doesn’t happen. It could take some time and money to find the right product but it’s better than having the reaction on your face and having it make you feel worse.
If you don’t want to waste time and money like that, you can always visit a dermatologist.

it says on the box that the oatmeal in the Aveeno Moisturizing bar gently exfoliates……so how do you use the Aveeno Moisturizing Bar to get the exfoliating effect? do you rub the bar directly on your face? ….do you lather on your hands first? will it still exfoliate if you lather it in your hands first and then apply to your face?
i would probably lather it on my hands first but if it doesnt exoliate the way you want it then try it directly on your face =D
