For the last 2 months the front of my calves have been quite itchy. It would be an on/off thing. but in the last few days, they’ve been non stop itchy, where I want to scratch them continuously, to the point where they are raw and start burning, then when the burning stops, they become itchy again.
My bf suggests I might be allergic to the fabric soap we use. But I dont understand why it would effect my skin there, where fabric barely touches, as opposed to more sensitive areas. My pharmacist suggested I was allergic to the water here (since I moved 2 months ago), and that I just had to get used to the water. But its getting worse, not better.
I’ve been using Aveeno Anti-itch Lotion, which did help before, but now its not doing anything.
I’m going to the walk in clinic tomorrow hopefully, any suggestions that I could bring up with him?
Is it possible that its related to a psychological condition, since I do suffer from depression and it has been getting worse.

Doall these cleansers and lotion actually make acne-prone skin worse?
i’d always been using acne products like salylic acid cleanser and BP lotion and proactiv stuff etc etc. my skin has never really been acne-free from those products
just recently I had a light chemical peel and i am forced to use just the cetaphil and Obagi Moisturizer.. i find the gentle cleanser actually feel a lot better than all these harsh stuff even those i don’t have sensitive skin.
Instead of going back to the program, should i just use the gentlest cleanser, like cetaphil or purpose, and use blotting sheets during the days, and do exfoliate twice a week, and go get a good exfoliation facial once or twice a month. isn’t that better than using all these chemical on me?
Using less chemicals is always a great idea. I find that if I use anything with salicylic acid, I break out worse in the long run. I stick to Cetaphil or Arbonne products (depending on my money situation at the time). With the Arbonne it is mostly botanical ingredients, no harsh chemicals.
My Version of Obagi-The Kinder, Gentler, Cheaper Way to Anti-Age Your Skin
I have typical teenage skin. Oily, spotty, blackheads. I don’t have any dry patches but I am very prone to breakouts, especially on my forehead and chin. I recently went for a facial and they use Dermalogica Products. She recommended a few things, like the acne prone skin kit. It contains anti-bac skin wash, oil control lotion, medicated clearing gel and a toner. Has anyone used any of these products or used the kit? Did it work for you? I’m not bothered by it drying up my skin because it never drys up. It is also not at all sensitive. Thanks!
Hi, I started using this kit a couple of months ago – I’m 33 and have suffered with acne at varying degrees since I was 10, and dermologica seemed like a good product becasue it is meant to be good for sensitive skin. It cleared up, then I had the most horrendous breakout and I stopped using it. The past few weeks I’ve been using Pears soap, the moisturiser from the Dermalogica Kit mixed with E45, non-acnegenic make up and my skin is much better. Oh yes, I didn’t find dermalogica dried my skin up at all so its a good option from that point.
Dermologica is horrendously expensive but I got mine fro jersey cosmetics company on line, much cheaper!!
so maybe give the kit a go, the products are nice but certainly didn’t cure me.
do you find Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion too greasy for hand use?
I keep using the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion on my hands, but it feels greasy like I put my hands in food grease. Do you think that too?
Yes Absolutely. I recently started using Arbonne. My whole family uses it and i love it!! If you want to try it send me an email. Its all pure safe and beneficial, no chemicals, dye or animal bi products. And most important no moneral oil. Feel free to send me an email if u have any questions

Well I’m 14 years old and I have acne, not serious but still its moderate, and to be quite honest I’m fed up of it. I’ve had it for about a year now and I started using Dermalogica’s Clay Cleanser and Oil Control Lotion at first. Until about a month ago, I knew it wasn’t going to work for me because it had been almost a year so I went to my local Chemist and I asked the pharmacist there. He gave me a cream called ‘Brevoxyl’ which I have noticed a difference with now and again, but still some of the Acne wont go and even when it does, It finds a way to break out in another area. And also, even if the acne isn’t like in a spot form, its like there just blemishes on my face and I Think it makes my face look really dirty… So I was just wondering if anyone knows of any home remedies, good creams etc… , That would really be helpful! 10 points for best answer
* To help prevent the oil buildup that can lead to acne, wash your face once or twice a day with warm water and a mild soap or cleanser.
* Don’t scrub your face. Scrubbing can actually make acne worse by irritating the skin. Wash gently, using your hands instead of a washcloth.
* If you wear makeup, moisturizer, or sunscreen, make sure they are “oil-free,” “noncomedogenic,” or “nonacnegenic.”
* When you wash your face, take the time to remove all of your makeup.
* If you use hair sprays or gels, try to keep them away from your face because they can clog pores.
* If you have long hair, keep it away from your face and wash it regularly to reduce oil.
* Baseball caps and other hats can cause pimples along the hairline. Avoid them if you think they are worsening your acne.
* Wash your face after you’ve been exercising and sweating a lot.
* Try not to touch your face.
* Don’t pick, squeeze, or pop pimples.
Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash..wash your face in the morning and night with that.

Can I use Ponds Clear Solution w/ ProActiv Revitilizing toner & Repairing lotion? cuz cleanser ran out?
im not sure if what im doing is ok.. Im using the proactiv combination therapy, the cleanser, toner, and lotion. but the cleanser ran out. is it ok if i replace it with the ponds clear solution that has salicylic acid instead of what the proactiv has(benzoyl peroxide 2.5%)
first, get more cleanser so you can stop worrying about it. but yes, I think you’d be fine using the Ponds for a few days while you’re waiting.
I have 38 mosquito bites. 2 of them filled with a clear substance (i drained it…gross, i know). I’ve been using aveeno’s anti itch cream ALL day. Could it be from that? The active ingredients are calamine and pramoxine. please let me know if i need to go to the doctor?
Take Benedryl instead. Try two tables at bedtime. Also, some 1% cortizone cream on the bites will help. Allow four or five days for this to resolve.
Sounds like you are very sensitive to insect bites. Best use some repellent in the future.
Incidentially, they may not be mosquito bites. Several insects stings and bites can cause these symptoms. Same treatment as above to control the histamines released by your body causing the site to itch and burn.
