what face products should i use?

i have no idea what to use anymore.
currently i use blackhead scrub with micro beads
and clearasil deep pore wash ( both for shower )
and After my shower i use,
clean and clear TONER,
and Garner pure A moisturizer.
and when i get acne breakouts i use clearasil acne treatment cream.

the skin fitness that i go to suggested that i use their
kit thing with a shower scrub thing, and toner n moisturizer ( which is all called dermalogica )
its kind of working except i have a rash or something on my cheeks which isn’t itchy or sore, just yuck!
does anyone have suggestions on what i should try?
for shower scrubs, toner and moisturizer?
my skin is pretty good except for some acne now and again
and acne scars, and at the moment, the rash lump things.
i get alot of blackheads to.
and my skin has a bit of redness to it.
also i dont want any products that will reck my skin over time, like dy it out or something, just something to keep it healthy and looking good.
thanks.

I highly recommend DDF and Peter Thomas Roth. They are both clinical skin care brands and are reasonably priced. (very cheap on strawberrynet.com)

Avoid drugstore brands like Garnier and Clearasil. From personal experience (I have used both) and from reading many online reviews, this products are very harsh and generally ineffective.

I would strongly recommend discontinuing with the products giving you the rash. Redness and rashs you have are most likely a sign of irritation. Your acne may also be partly caused due to irritation which causes the skin to over-produce oil .To have great-looking skin, you need to eliminate irriation.
Stop using any product which irritates your skin (signs include redness, stinging/tingling).
Irritation is both unsightly and can cause acne to break out if you are prone to it. Irritation to your skin can also inflame existing acne.

What to look for in products?

Cleanser
Aim for a water-based, non-foaming cleanser which doesn’t dry out the skin. Cetaphil (the original version) is absolutly wonderful. It cleanses without stipping your skins natural oils and leaves skin very soft.
Avoid “foamy” cleansers which can irritate your skin.
You can also use Jojoba oil.

Toner
Always use an alcohol free toner. Alcohol can strip the skin’s oils and cause redness, irriation and acne.

I recommend:
Neutrogena alcohol-free toner
Clarins alcohol-free toner for oily/combo skin
Skinceuticals Equalizing toner
DDF Aloe toning complex (my toner at the moment)

Scrub
Again, be careful because scrubs can easily irritate your skin. Try to find a gentle scrub and use it 2 – 3 times per week.
If possible, try to find a scrub which has AHA and/or BHA in it. These are chemical exfoliants which are very, very helpful in fighting acne and blackheads.
I use Peter Thomas Roth AHA/BHA Face and Body Polish and it is superb. It has really helped with my acne.
I also recommend:
Clarins Gentle Facial Scrub (not the Facial Peeling one)

Moisterizer
The best moisterizer I have used is Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle cream. You don’t have to have wrinkles to use it. It contains Retinol which exfoliates skin cells. It helps to fade acne scars, reduces blackheads and makes your skin very smooth and radiant-looking. It is also very non-irritating.
Otherwise any oil-free moisterizer would be good for your skin. Again, avoid cheap ones like clearasil which often contain irritating substances.
Cost effective alternatives I have tried are Jojoba oil and rosehip oil. Both are fantastic moisterizers and make your skin look great. Don’t put on too much (just a few drops) otherwise they will make your skin oily.

Mask
If you want a good, cheap mask you can make at home, dissolve some asprins (about 5-6) in a few drops of water. Mix it with honey, apply to your face and wait about 20 minutes. Your skin will look beautiful afterwards.

Remember
Wash your face *gently* with lukewarm water. Hot water is irritating to the skin.
*Pat* (don’t rub) your face dry with a soft towel.

You can find cheap cosmetics on strawberrynet. I always get mine that way :-D

I hope this helps!

i have mild hormonal acne .what brands would get rid of them? i don care about the price.?

im 12, suffered from acne since i was 10, and i currently use cetaphil oily face wash , Duac from my doc and a nutrogena spf15 moisuriser. im open to medicated brands like dermalogica, nutrogena, olay ect OR homemade ideas. i have combination skin

talk to your doctor about dioxycyclene. it is an antibiotic that really does help. also, there are perscription strength topical creams that he may also perscribe. they are really helpful.

your diet can have an effect on the quality of your skin. be sure you are eating lots of leafy greens, and your veggies. most importantly, you need to be getting 8 glasses of water, per day. this really, really helps. helps keep your blood clean. if your pee is dark, you are not getting enough water, and really need to increase your intake (and reduce caffiene intake. this dehydrates you and makes your skin worse!) one of the biggest skin issues can be sovled by eating less junk food, and more veggies. they help keep your skin clear. give it a shot for, oh, a month, and see if it makes a difference. it will. keep up on it, and you will notice a difference. get at least 64 ounces of water per day, and this will be most beneficial.

you may also want to wash 3 times a day with clearisil. once before school, once after school, and once before bed. massage it all over your face for 30 seconds. in your trouble spots, focus for 30 seconds per spot. it helps. i swear it does. you may want to use baking soda as your exfoliant 2-3 times per week. (no more! it makes it worse, although im not sure why) mix enough with water to make a thick paste, and massage all over your face, particularly trouble spots, for 30 seconds per area. (the 30 seconds really helps me to know that i’m getting it clean, and not just rinsing quickly.)

lastly, check out these links:

http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/

http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/

these last two links have worked wonders for me, i only wish i had found them sooner. i strongly reccommend clearisil because it works. it is not greasy, or drying. i never found the point in wasting my money on hundreds of different products when i could just use the things i already have in my kitchen!

amanda compares #13 – Tinted Moisturizer

Dermalogica Spf tinted

Which tinted moisturizer would you recommend? Dermalogica, Laura Mercier, MAC etc.?

My skin is combination and I occassionally get hormonal blemishes but nothing too serious – I do not have acne. I’m just looking for something to even out my skin tone that I can wear every day.

Brands I’ve been looking at; Dermalogica, Laura Mercier, MAC, MD Skincare, Philosophy, Stila … or anything else you would recommend.

Price isn’t a huge concern – I’m more basing my choice on quality. It needs to be oil-free as I plan to wear it every day and can’t have it blocking my pores, SPF protection and no pink undertones as I am Italian/Spanish mix British so I’m pale but olive. I would prefer yellow/olive undertones.

Who’s tried what? Which would you recommend for me?

Thanks =)

Dermalogica is really good, the only problem is that it only has 3 different color tones. If MAC makes one I would try that first because they more likely have your skin color tone.
