How can I stop ingrown hairs on my face when shaving?

I read the bottle of this good shaving cream (Aveeno) that I got and it says to get a razor specially designed to stop ingrown hairs. None of them said that….. What can I do?

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. A review of the various hair removal methods is available at

Ughh, this is really embarrasing, but I need some advice on what to do.?

I have extremely sensitive skin. Everything seems to irritate it. In the ‘below’ area I have been shaving it with just an ordinary razor and Aveeno Shave gel. I try to get a really clean smooth shave, but it I always get cuts or red bumps and afterwards it bleeds a lot and the shave is rough, kinda like a guy that just shaved his face and he still has prickly hairs on it ( that kind of feel ) Luckily no one has seen it except for me or else I’d be humiliated! I’ve also tried Nair cream bleach and it was EVEN worse… It irritated the hell out of it. I’m only fifteen so I don’t want to go to a professional. I just want to find something that will give it a silky smooth feel with no irritation, but the product needs to be something my parents won’t know what I’m using it for. If anyone has any recommendations then please help me!

Thanks so much!

Throw out the razor now! I used to shave all the time, but I stopped when I found the best remedy for removing bikini hair, waxing. I have extremely sensitive skin as well and shaving didn’t help. My bikini area was always dry, cut, rough, and always hurt. About a year ago I started waxing and I’ve only seen great results. Honestly, it hurts the first few times but then it’s nothing.
I went to a professional the first few times and got the full wax. The girl made me feel so comfortable and afterward I didn’t feel any discomfort. Now I wax myself and use a gentle spa product you can even get at Target. The hair is much thinner and there is less of it. The results last for up to 2 weeks. It is so easy and is the only way to say “goodbye” to nasty bumps and itching. Afterwards I use the waxing oil that the box provides or even my own Jergens lotion. You need to try it, I gaurantee you’ll love it! (:

How To Get Soft & Smooth Legs For The Summer!

We live very busy lives, and that frantic pace makes us impatient.  We have been conditioned to – instant, drive-thru, no-wait, want it now - thinking, and that includes results from our skin care products.

But we can’t hurry some things, and that especially is true of our bodies.  When we start using a new skin product, there is a period of time that we need to use it before we are going to see results.  Our impatience often causes us to think that the product isn’t working, so, we start over with something else, and continue to be discouraged by poor results and wasted money.

Here are some interesting statistics:

  • Acne-Fighting: Six weeks to three months of treatment
  • Skin-Lightening: Six to 12 months of treatment
  • Anti-Aging: Three months of treatment

Seems we need to be a little more determined, a little more patient and give skin care products time to do their job.
